During breakfast we enjoyed a slow cruise through the Sounds passing salmon and mussel farms, an old whaling station and the inter-island ferry in Tory Channel-the southern entrance to Cook Strait.
Passing Wellington and Cape Palliser mid-morning, Mark shared some stories about how the first Polynesian explorers arrived in New Zealand, and a few more stories on a fairly well-known Englishman named Cook. Then it was time for more food. After lunch, Malcolm entertained us with a talk on the immense number of famous icons native to this country-many laughs were had by all.
